This class is for anyone who... wants to try something a little different with fitness, or if your looking to get into playing roller derby and need a good starting point, or Roller Derby Pro wanting to increase your  skill/fitness levels, plyometric, endurance, hitting techniques (bags are used as human dummies) and a whole lotta fun! The most original workout ever made, used in conjunction with 150 lb. heavy bags, and body shield units!!!
.

In May of 2010 I was 190+lbs and had no roller skating experience, but I wanted to play roller derby more than anything. So, I finally got the nerve to invest in a pair of $80 skates and give it a try. I quickly realized I LOVE skating, and I was REALLY bad at it. Not only was I bad at skating, my body was in no shape to be the kind of skater I wanted to be, let alone do the things I demanded my body to do...like, stay upright. I wasn't even able to pass my initial skating skills test to become a derby girl, but the one thing I do have is determination!

Since then, I've lost 60+ lbs. of fat, increased my endurance, agility, speed and power. Now my body can meet any of the demands I put on it. Having been a Captain for my roller derby home team for two seasons now, as well as Captain of the B Travel Team last season, I've learned and shared a lot of derby /fitness information with my teammates and friends. I've attend roller derby boot camps to increase my skills, and I'm currently an enrolled I.S.S.A. student, to earn my personal training certification. My skating performance and skills on the track comes directly from all the hard work I do off the track, in the gym. I want to share my knowledge and passion for fitness and roller derby with EVERYONE, even those who never intend to roller skate.
