Recovery Kickboxing F.A.Q.
F.A.Q.
Who belongs to Recovery Kickboxing?
Adults who are involved in any 12 step program, or have a desire to stop using mood altering substances or vices, or who attend any other recovery treatment program. If you are a supporter of a loved one who is in recovery, please feel free to attend as well.
How is Recovery Kickboxing different from other Smash Hit Kickboxing Classes?
Recovery Kickboxing uses the same total conditioning program as our Smash Hit classes, but we emphasize numerous additional recovery benefits, as explained here.
When is Recovery Kickboxing offered?
All classes named Smash Hit Kickboxing also meet Recovery Classes credentials, so you may attend any regular Smash Hit class on our schedule. We find that this allows easier time scheduling throughout the week.
How much does it cost?
The cost of Recovery Kickboxing depends on circumstances of each individual, although we start with a 40% reduction of current class prices.
When enough participants are attending classes through the recovery kickboxing program, our goal is to form an open recovery group.
Is Recovery Kickboxing class a medical treatment for Substance Abuse?
NO. It is a martial arts based program that can help one who suffers from addiction improve their lifestyle through exercise, accountability, self-discipline, and achievement. One should always consult a physician before starting any exercise program.
Is Recovery Kickboxing A.A. or N.A. affiliated?
The Recovery Kickboxing Program was created by a group of recovering addicts who are all affiliated with 12 step and addictive disorder treatment programs, and include fitness and martial arts industry experts. So although we are not a 12 step program, we share many of the same beliefs and philosophies.
