🥊 How is Personalized Training Different from a Regular Class?
Personalized Training Sessions are a flexible, semi-private alternative to our regular group classes. Designed for 1 to 6 participants, these sessions offer a more focused, customizable experience.
In a standard class, everyone follows a set workout led by the instructor. But in Personalized Training, you have the freedom to focus on what you need most—whether that’s sharpening your roundhouse kick, building boxing endurance, or strengthening your core.
Your trainer can work directly with you on specific goals. For example:

Your trainer can work directly with you on specific goals. For example:
- Spend 15 minutes on supervised technique practice
- Get in a few rounds on the heavy bag, mixing in kicks and punches
- Wrap up with targeted strength or conditioning work
- Focus mitt drills
- Partner combos or technique breakdowns
- Heavy bag intervals
- Or even a 30-minute on-demand boxing or kickboxing workout shown on our big screen

Kathryn started her Martial Arts Career at Smash Hit. Since then, she has traveled around the country, taking classes, seminars, and training in Muay Thai for many years. Eric was voted Best Kickboxing Instructor and Best Personal Trainer by Real Detroit Magazine 3 times. Eric has Coached/Trained 5 National Champs, 10 State Champions & 5 Junior Olympic gold medalists.

Ken is a former world-ranked, undefeated kickboxing champion who has taught thousands of students in the Metro Detroit area. Known for coaching and developing instructors, Ken is considered an early pioneer in the Martial Arts Aerobic movement.
Ken's "Fighting Trim" workout video received the highest ranking of all fitness videos from Shape Magazine and was voted "Best Newcomer" by Self Magazine.
In addition to coaching title-winning kickboxers, Ken recently developed the Smash Hit Kickboxing Rank System to help all of his students attain a higher level of achievement, as well as recovery kickboxing to help others in recovery build a healthier lifestyle.
